Alabama Governor's School

Hi everyone, this is the new blog that I've decided to start in light of the Web Design class that I am taking this week at the Alabama Governor's School. For those of you who don't know what the AGS is, it is essentially a two week, summer honors program at Samford University in Birmingham Alabama. There are a little over 80 students enrolled this year, and each student gets to sign up for two classes, or seminars as they are called by the professors who actually teach them.

Above you will see the Samford Campus library.
It is also where I will be posting from for the next few days
This year, there are a total of sixteen classes taught, with eight taught in the morning and the other eight taught in the afternoon. The morning classes are: American Health Care, American Legal System, Research Science, "Catch A Wave" (commonly referred to as "physics" or "wave physics"), "Lights, Camera Action" (the class that gets to go around and film the other classes to make the AGS video for next year), Magazine Publishing, Arts Experience, and Business. The afternoon classes are Leadership (yes, there is a course on leadership), Astronomy, Film, Medea (as in the Greek tragedy, not the scary black woman -- the class is also known as "classics"), Wild Side (a course which involves extensive hikes in the woods), Web Design, Global Citizenship, and Photography.

The classes I have are Lights, Camera, Action, and Web Design, in case you haven't noticed. Those in the video class are allowed to take a camera anywhere, even where others can't, so I should be able to get pictures of my own to post here next time. I plan to keep updating this as the weeks progress, so keep checking the site for updates.
